Watch fire service remove tree which fell onto a Hassocks house

The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to remove a tree which had fallen onto a house in Hassock this morning (Saturday, December 8).

Firefighters arrived in Orchard Lane, Hassocks, at 9.48am after receiving reports of the fallen tree.

A fire service spokesman said there were no injuries and could not confirm if anyone was in the house when the tree fell.

She said the house was not damaged.

She added: "Our technical rescue team went out and using a specialist Unimog vehicle the team was able to remove the three without damaging the house.

"They were able to cut the tree away and cut it down onto the floor.

"There were no injuries whatsoever and the house was also undamaged."

The spokesman said the final crew member left the scene at 2.19pm.
