West Sussex benefits from Hall and Woodhouse Community Chest Awards

Numerous clubs and organisations in West Sussex have benefitted from a cash injection after the sixth annual Community Chest Awards, organised by independent brewers Hall and Woodhouse.

A total of 22 groups from Southwater Village Hall to the Burgess Hill Poets Group received a share of £15,316 during a presentation at The Goffs Manor in Crawley last night (Wednesday September 25).

Money will go towards anything from new equipment to running costs.

This year the brewers received a total of 163 applications requesting £235,000.

Mark Woodhouse, chairman of Hall and Woodhouse, which is based in Dorset, said: “It’s great to be putting something back into the community. It’s always a pleasure to come down to Sussex and we look forward to doing it all again next year.”
