Winter Festival trophy is back after six years

A Best Dressed Window trophy, last awarded in 2009, has been returned just in time for the competition to be brought back.

Haywards Heath Winter Festival, organised by the town’s Community Interest Company (CIC), will be held on Saturday November 28.

They have revived the Best Dressed Window Competition for the town’s retailers, and were delighted when family-run kitchen designers Charlwood Designs, in South Road, got in touch to say they still had the trophy, which they had been looking after since they won it back in 2009.

Charlwood Designs owner Anne Stubbington said: “We always enjoyed this competition as it is great fun and an opportunity for all the retailers in the town to join in.

“When we heard it had been revived we were happy to return the trophy for the 2015 Winter Festival. We will of course be entering, and doing our best to win it again.”

Haywards Heath Community CIC director Rene Moolenaar said: “This is what the Winter Festival is all about; the whole town joining in and celebrating together. We hope as many retailers will enter - after all we now have a beautiful trophy to present! - and we are looking forward to some spectacular window displays.”
