Wivelsfield Historical Society: Elizabeth I in Chichester and Midhurst is the subject of the Wivelsfield Historical Society talk by Dr Caroline Adams on Thursday 16th June at 8.00 pm, in the Village Hall. The Queen was able to travel around the county with relative ease and this talk looks at the route that the royal party took and her relationship with the people of Sussex. She spent a week at Cowdray, when some of the best entertainment that the county could offer took place during a hot week in August. Was it true that she ate her hosts out of house and home and bankrupted the neighbourhood? The talk explores the way in which the royal progress operated and who it was she stayed with. Members £1, non-members £2.50 including tea or coffee and biscuits.
Wivelsfield Films: will be screening Eddie the Eagle on Sunday June 26th.

Tickets available from Wivelsfield Post Office, the Cock Inn, on line from www.wivelsfield.com or at the door.
