Wivelsfield Films: will be screening Brooklyn in the Village Hall on Sunday April 17th.

Brooklyn is a 2015 Irish-British-Canadian romantic drama directed by John Crowley and written by Nick Hornby, based on Colm Tóibín’s novel of the same name. The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson,Jim Broadbent, and Julie Walters. Set in 1951 and 1952, the film tells the story of a young Irish woman’s immigration to Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within them for her.

The film was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Wivelsfield Church: Fancy being a Bell Ringer 8pm to 9:15pm every Thursday or would you prefer to sing – join the choir 6.45pm juniors or 7:15pm for adults

LUNCH BUNCH: a drop-in lunch club for mums, dads, grannies and carers every Thursday from 12 noon to 2pm, in Wivelsfield church hall, Church Lane. Enjoy home-made soup and a roll while meeting new friends and chatting to old ones.
