LETTER: Chaos in absence of opposition

Blackest day forever for Mid Sussex. How foolish can the electorate be to vote in 54 complacent Tories?

These are the same people who have been unable to get the Districtwide Plan approved, leaving us all at the mercy of greedy developers.

Houses will be built where no one wants them with increased traffic that will logjam our towns. Developers only care about profit.

Can we trust the 54 Tories to care about you and me?There will be chaos in the absence of any elected opposition.

Did a Tory candidate knock on your door to find out your views?

I got told on election day by one Tory candidate in Franklin’s Ward Burgess Hill, that it was too big a task and he would need to take time off work to knock on doors. Poor soul.

I did it for 20 years, coming home from working in London and canvassed every evening and weekend until the job was done.

I loved the personal contact and it paid dividends. It showed you really cared.
