Further to your article headed “Turn those lights out….” (Middy 8 September) I would like to add that both I and my neighbours first drew the attention of the local council to this problem more than a year ago and have reminded them on several occasions since.
On each occasion we have been told the faulty street lights will be replaced but nothing has been done so far. We have spoken to people from other parts of Hurstpierpoint who have had a similar experience. I have now received a letter from the council saying they will shortly start replacing the street lights in Hurst. I hope that means very soon.
