My wife and I have just used the Haywards Heath by-pass to drive home from Cuckfield.
It was like driving down a ghost road. We didn’t see a single lorry, van or truck. And yet as we made the turn off leading to the by-pass at the roundabout coming into Haywards Heath we saw huge trucks coming in the other direction which had obviously come through the town centre. It seems crazy that such behemoths are still battling their way through our town while the hugely expensive “by-pass” resembles a country lane in a remote backwater. Can nothing be done to encourage heavy lorries and traffic in general to use the by-pass?
