How on earth is a slimmed-down post office service in Lindfield going to cope with demand.
Queues out of the door every day this week at the fully-fledged sub post office are indicative of the needs in the community, yet Post Office are determined to reduce the service and provide a mere pop-up facility in the already congested newsagents further up the high street.
The current sub-postmaster is to retire we are told in an official handout. Asked whether he’d have retired anyway, without the Post Office’s cost-saving pruning, he merely shrugged his shoulders. Enough said.
