LETTER: Parking charges on a bank holiday

On Boxing Day I parked my car in the multi-storey car park in Blackhorse Way, the car park I use when I come to Horsham.

To my surprise I had to pay. There was a printed sign on the pay machine ‘Today Boxing Day users have to pay’.

The car park information sign tells us that Sundays and bank holidays are free parking.

It is my understanding that Boxing Day is a bank holiday - the banks are closed.

Is this yet another stunt pulled by Horsham council to rip off the motorist?
