LETTER: Petition ignored

Can you imagine the UK Government ignoring a petition signed by 12 million of its people, 20 per cent of the population.

No neither can I. Democracy would simply not allow it but that is exactly what the Burgess Hill Town Council has done in ignoring the petition for a like for like replacement for the Martlets Hall.

This petition was signed by 6,000 people which is 20 per cent of the town’s population and yet the council ignored it. Unbelievable!
