LETTER: Trolleys are abandoned

I am fed up with shopping trolleys being abandoned in parks, on the pavements, at bus shelters, and in car parks in Burgess Hill.

If you use a trolley to take your shopping to your car where you have parked, then why can’t you return it back to the supermarket? Or if you use the trolley to take your shopping to the bus stop how do you carry your shopping home when you get off the bus? Why leave a trolley in a car park? That could be your car dented next with a rogue trolley.

If trolleys get left around the town, children play around with them. They can also damage cars, when left on the pavement and in car parks.

Please give a thought to other people, and if you are going to use a trolley, replace it back to the supermarket. We don’t want our parks and streets littered with supermarket trolleys.

Perhaps supermarkets should start charging for their trolleys?
