LETTER: Why no adhesive on parking tickets?

On Friday 18th December my daughter parked her car in the Waitrose Car Park in Burgess Hill. When she returned to her car she found a parking fine notice on the windscreen.

Unfortunately her parking ticket had blown down off the dashboard when the passenger door had closed and was on the floor in the drivers side foot well.

She saw the parking attendant and produced the valid ticket and was told by him that ‘this happens a lot’.

Perhaps the council should supply parking tickets with an adhesive strip then it could be stuck on the windscreen. This is normal practice in most Pay & Display Car Parks - Why not in MSDC parks, perhaps too much money is made fining innocent people.

Editor’s note: MSDC has confirmed that it is not the owner of this car park. The Middy contacted Market Place Shopping Centre offering it the chance to respond to the issues raised. By the time of going to press no response had been received
