Zumbathon for earthquake stricken Caribbean school

Haywards Heath's Clair Hall will hold a Zumbathon and Swoove class to raise money for Hope House Haiti UK.

Swoove, a fitness class based around singing, whooping and moving will mould with Zumba in this event hosted by Swoove-founder Esther Featherstone, which will take place on Saturday February 27 from 11am to 1pm.

The Mid Sussex charity Hope House Haiti supports a free school for 520 students and a children’s home in Haiti. All funds raised at the Zumbathon will go towards providing a free school lunch and access to medication. For many of the children, this is the only meal they will receive each day.

The charity was created by Haitian-born teacher Yvrose and her husband Pierre Richard in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. It has grown considerably, with particular help and coming from Mid Sussex.

Haywards Heath is the latest Mid Sussex town to back Hope House UK, with The King’s Church and The Point church, both in Burgess Hill, listed are key contributors on Hope House Haiti’s website.
