The hosts had two teams in the tournament with the Sussex All Blacks 7s playing in their pink Break Through Breast Cancer kit and Pain Train opting for bright Orange. Pain Train had a sprinkling of Fijians in their side and they produced some wonderful skills as well as bone-crunching tackles despite going out in the semi finals of the main event, losing by a conversion to Sussex Sea Horses .

In the other semi, All Blacks swept aside Sussex All Sorts in a bruising encounter. In the plate Hove Outcasts comfortably beat the Barbarians, while in the event proper Sea Horses showed their quality to defeat All Blacks 22-5.
