And an eye-catching move initially designed to help clubs navigate a second lockdown will also help community sport look forward to a bright future in 2021 and beyond.

“There’s no catch and no hidden cost,” said GiveToLocal’s Co-Founder and CEO Neil Gardiner.

“This really is happening.

“Our multi-sport service is already making a difference to communities across the UK every day.

“But towards the end of what’s been a hugely challenging year for everyone we wanted to do more.

“What we can do is use our platform to ensure every penny donated to a club goes directly to that club.

“There’s no administration fee and no percentage of the donation taken away.

“If your club raises £300 in donations through GiveToLocal next month you’ll get £300. It’s as simple as that.”

Earlier this month the organisation revealed it was doubling all November donations.

And October saw the launch of GiveToLocal’s Focus Clubs initiative with more than 70 clubs across 15 sports nationwide benefitting from additional support and a targeted fundraising plan.

But removing fees altogether is a genuine game changer within the fundraising sector.

“Our service was always designed to be free for clubs and always has been,” added Neil.

“That staple of our organisation’s ethos will never change.

“There have never been any subscription fees and we only leveraged a flat fee on individual donations.

“We took a small amount of the extra income that we helped to generate in order to make us sustainable.

“But that will no longer be the case.

“Thanks to the continued support of our partners we’re in the perfect position to change what we do.

“GiveToLocal will become fee free. Clubs will receive 100% of any donation income generated through our platform.”

GiveToLocal works with thousands of clubs across 15 sports throughout the UK.

And it is hoped many more will take the opportunity to join the platform at a time when every penny raised represents a more sustainable future for community sport.

“If you’re not yet registered with GiveToLocal now’s the time to make the move,” added Neil.

“We’re ready to welcome new clubs and help those clubs benefit from fee-free fundraising.

“Our partners recognise that their support is making a meaningful difference to a community sport landscape hit hard by Covid-19.

“Their exceptional enthusiasm and support for our vision allows us to continually reach more clubs, commit more resources and, ultimately, scrap the flat fee at a time when clubs need additional income more than ever.

“Our partners have given us the confidence and belief that we can genuinely increase our impact by becoming the ONLY zero fees platform for donations from individuals.”
