The innovative service — backed by sporting stars including Liverpool footballer Gini Wijnaldum, world record breaking swimmer Adam Peaty and former Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell — is promising clubs a 100% return on all individual donations.

And an eye-catching move initially designed to help clubs navigate a second lockdown will also help community sport look forward to a bright future in 2021 and beyond.

GiveToLocal has grappled with various ways in which its innovative service can impact even more positively on a growing grassroots sport community.

“There’s no catch and no hidden cost,” said GiveToLocal’s Co-Founder and CEO Neil Gardiner.

“This really is happening.

“Our multi-sport service is already making a difference to communities across the UK every day.

“But towards the end of what’s been a hugely challenging year for everyone we wanted to do more.

“What we can do is use our platform to ensure every penny donated to a club goes directly to that club.

But removing fees altogether is a genuine game changer within the fundraising sector.

“Our service was always designed to be free for clubs and always has been,” added Neil.

“That staple of our organisation’s ethos will never change.

“There have never been any subscription fees and we only leveraged a flat fee on individual donations.

“We took a small amount of the extra income that we helped to generate in order to make us sustainable.

“But that will no longer be the case.

“Thanks to the continued support of our partners we’re in the perfect position to change what we do.

“GiveToLocal will become fee free. Clubs will receive 100% of any donation income generated through our platform.”

GiveToLocal works with thousands of clubs across 15 sports throughout the UK.

And it is hoped many more will take the opportunity to join the platform at a time when every penny raised represents a more sustainable future for community sport.
