Burgess Hill Runners score maximum points at the Trundle Hill league race

The Burgess Hill Runners week started with triumph as they scored maximum points at the Trundle Hill league race on Wednesday to finish in 1st place for the evening.

37 of the famous blue shirts turned out for the aptly named 10k and maximum points were reaped by Paul Sargent (39:04 - 3rd place overall), Gary Woolven (41:35), Jon Boxall (41:48), Jason Collett (42:06), Steve Bird (43:13) and Fay Roberts (51:29).

Jon Boxall’s superb racing week wasn’t over and on Saturday he showcased his rise in form at the Discovery Run Half Marathon held in Petworth Park. Jon finished in 1:32:46 which put him in 9th place. Lee Crow followed in 1:56:49 and John Palmer in 2:03:13. Marie and John Carey also turned out for the 10k event and finished in a brilliant 57:50 and 1:03:35 respectively.

Club members Matthew Cawthra and Carole Mills collected their ‘Womble’ medals at the Wimbledon Half Marathon on Sunday finishing in 1:52:20 and 2:11:21 respectively.
