The highest profile event was the televised Great North Run and as Mo Farah hogged the limelight once again, it was club chairman Mark Craigs who championed BHR with a time of 2:02:08 in this popular half marathon.

Four club members took on the Firle Half Marathon on the South Downs and whilst disappointed that the course had not been marked up correctly, will be pleased with their fantastic times. Leading the club home was Ross Wiggins with a time of 1:33:51. He was followed by Matthew Cawthra (1:39:44), Stuart Anderson (1:42:50) and Karen Harvey (2:05:57).

Another half marathon adventurer this weekend was Claire Giles who completed the Bacchus Half in Surrey. Also out in Surrey were Jay Wadey, Steve Roberts and Jon Lavis who completed the Farnham Pilgrim Half Marathon in 2:04:02, 2:04:47 and 2:12:34 respectively. Taking on the full marathon at the Farnham Pilgrim event were Jamie Goodhead and Darren Chilcott who finished in superb times of 3:52:12 and 4:18:57.

Whizzing about in 10k events were Gary Woolven and Keith Brown. Gary completed the Hellingly 10k in 38:28 and Keith travelled to Berkshire to complete the Swallowfield 10k in 51:38.

Finally, congratulations to club member, Sharona Harrington, who utilised her superb running ability to help her to complete her first Half-Triathlon.
