With a tasty handful of interesting events on offer, Sunday saw Burgess Hill Runners split in several directions. Meanwhile, several club members were also in London participating in the River Relay. Amy Mills, Lily Craigs and Amber Bird represented the club in the Junior one mile event at Fittleworth finishing in 8:28, 9:40 and 13:44 respectively. Inspired by their younger counterparts, the adults went on to third place overall in the five mile senior race. In 8th place, Gary Woolven scored maximum points for the club again with a time of 32:15. Sharona Harrington also scored maximum points with a time of 37:59 and was 8th place lady.

Also contributing their scores to the total were Steve Bird (33:53), James Sorbie (34:20), Annette Maynard (40:36) and Lara Maynard (41:20). The club remains second in the league with three races to go and boosted by high attendance figures they’ll hope to hold on to this.
