Controversial tryand refereeingdecisions makeit hard for Plums

Plumpton lost 0-10 in an exciting and full-on Sussex Intermediate game against their old rivals Shoreham on Saturday, when all the scoring came in the first half.

Plumpton always enjoy their fixtures with their friendly adversaries. The games, invariably, are tight and although Plums probably have the better record over the years, Shoreham are always well in the hunt and never give too much away.

On Saturday Plumpton were missing a number of key players but still felt they had enough strength in depth to cope with the visitors. Plums were not too disappointed to turn around 0-10 down at half time as the wind offered them a significant advantage in the second half. However, despite crossing the Shoreham line a few times, they were pulled back for various reasons and it proved a frustrating 40 minutes.

Special mention goes to Man-of-the-Match Liam Dunkley, whose powerful runs on the wing gave his opposite number a torrid time. This week Plums host Hellingly (3pm).
