Balcombe youngsters playing in new kits thanks to sponsor

The team has been playing together for four years and when the club sent out a message looking for sponsors, Mark Hawe, director at Mi Business Interiors, stepped forward to support the team, in which his son Harry is the wicketkeeper.

Mark, who played years ago at Balcombe CC, off Westup Road, Balcombe, said: “This is my local village club and Harry has been playing here in the team and this was his introduction to cricket. They won their league the year before last and he and his friends have really enjoyed playing the game at the club.

“So when we were asked if we would be interested in sponsoring the team, we thought we could reward the great job that the club has done with the team. The club is providing an excellent opportunity for young players to learn the game and flourish at the sport.”

So far this season, the youngsters – coached by Gary Botting and Adrian Ruzicka - have won their opening fixture, against Scaynes Hill, in the North and Mid Sussex Junior Cricket League Under-11s South division.

Mi Business Interiors, based at the Basepoint Business Centre, Metcalf Way, Crawley, specialise in office and warehouse fit-outs, including partitioning, mezzanine flooring and storage equipment.
