Fletching Captain Ben Chapman scored freely in a hundred partnership with all-rounder Ben McIntosh as the Crowhurst Park bowlers began to toil. .Chapman went to his hundred in the 23rd over and finished on 110 of 91 balls

This all seems a long, long, time ago and now into mid summer the likely prospect of the cricket season disappearing very quickly and although the sun is shining the future looks gloomy at the moment.

Ben Chapman said: "It is very frustrating that no league cricket can be played at the moment as I am very confident we could have had a successful season. Young players are maturing rapidly and all at an age where consistent contributions are becoming more of an occurrence.

"It will be very interesting to see what offer Sussex CB put up in terms of certain cup competitions. but what ever happens I am confident that we can get a decent stint of social club games along with plans for some inter-club competitive games once restriction has been removed."

Ben added: "Nets have been in regular use since been allowed and our dedicated groundsmen, Jack Downey and Joe Holland have prepared wickets to use grass facilities.

"The social side of the club has been missed by many. The Sunday side still have a full fixture list to complete so there is hope there as well in terms of a decent amount of cricket to be played."
