Henriques and Burns ‘in decent shape’

Surrey County Cricket Club tweeted this morning to say that Moises Henriques and Rory Burns are ‘in decent shape’ following their horrific collision at Arundel Castle yesterday.

The pair collided when attempting to take a catch, which left both unconscious to the horror of the 8,500 crowd. Both players were treated by medical staff on the pitch, before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Henriques has broken his jaw in three places and will also need dental surgery.

Surrey tweeted this morning: “Latest news on the two boys..Both Rory and Moises are in decent shape following their operations overnight..further updates later in the day.”

Surrey director of cricket Alec Stewart this morning tweeted a picture of Burns sitting up in his hosptial bed and said: “Good to see @roryburns17 in safe hands this morning. Medical team have been outstanding.”
