Hodd join Yorkshire on loan from Sussex

Sussex’s wicketkeeper-batsman Andrew Hodd has joined Yorkshire on loan for the remainder of the 2012 season, although he will only be eligible for LV=County Championship cricket.

The 28 year-old Hodd made his first-class debut for Sussex in 2003 and will play for the Division Two side who are pushing for promotion back to the top-flight.

Hodd has found first team cricket hard to come by at The PROBIZ County Ground this season, having not featured across any of the three formats and he hasn’t featured in four-day cricket for Sussex for over a year.

He will be available for all four of the Headingley outfit’s remaining matches.

Sussex’s Professional Cricket Manager Mark Robinson said, “This is a great opportunity for Andrew to play some first-class cricket for a side challenging for promotion and all at Sussex wish him all the best.

“We still have the option to recall him should anything happen but most importantly it is a chance for Andrew to play some first-team cricket.”
