The 20 year old New South Wales-born all-rounder will join the club from mid-April as they look to bounce back from their recent relegation from the Sussex County League. Montgomery currently plays his cricket in Newcastle, New South Wales, for Wallsend Cricket Club, where he is the currently first eleven captain.

Having represented his state side New South Wales at junior levels, Montgomery is keen to ply his trade away from home conditions and Keymer and Hassocks are pleased to be able to give him this opportunity.

As well as contributing to the clubs senior first team, Montgomery will also work closely with KHCC’s other senior teams and the clubs large junior section to help improve the quality and enjoyment for junior cricketers in Hassocks.

Alex Brakell, club captain of KHCC said “We are delighted at Keymer & Hassocks to have signed a player of Jacob’s calibre. I’m sure he will play a huge part in a successful year for the 1st team whilst also helping to bring on some of our very talented youngsters within our colts section.”

Jacob Montgomery commented on his move by saying: “I’m looking forward to the season ahead at KHCC and experiencing foreign conditions for the first time. Hopefully I can contribute to a successful season on the field and also have a positive input to training and youth development.”
