As conditions improved the reply was looking like it should be relatively straight forward for the visitors who got off to a flyer. However, with a few wickets falling a possible upset looked on the cards. But the Bells Yew Green batsman saw their side home losing just 4 wickets.

Keymer 2nd XI travelled to Polegate & Stone Cross CC on Saturday for their East Sussex Cricket League Division 5 clash. Keymer won the toss and elected to field and Matt Porter was the pick of the bowlers picking up 5-43 in his 12 overs as Polegate posted 157-9. Keymer’s reply got off to the worst possible start as they soon found themselves 8 for 3 and stating down the barrel of a defeat. But steady innings from Simon McNiff, Jamie Carter and Skipper Patrick Corrigan managed to solidify the side who finished on 106-9 with the match ending drawn.

Keymer and Hassocks 3rd XI travelled to Smallfield Manor CC on Saturday looking to bounce back from a defeat the previous week. Having won the toss the visitors chose to bat first and got off to a great start with skipper Ross Watkins posting 78 runs and a maiden league 50 (55) for young talent Nick Kitchen along with a solid 37 from fellow youngster Michael Dillon. Keymer managed to rack up a promising 213-7. However this didn’t prove to be enough as the Smallfield Manor batsmen Geralnd Smith (87) and Shan Aroos (48) plundered runs seeing the side home for the loss of just 2 wickets.
