A large crowd of some 300 braved the very un-summer weather to watch a Piers Morgan Legends Xl take on Newick CC in a T20 match.

Finally, after years of hurt, the Morgan XI triumphed.

Legends Shane Warne, Tino Best and Adam Hollioake turned out for Piers’ team.

Tino Best hit 55 not out from 19 balls including six 6s and was assisted by Shane Warne.

The Legends XI scored 148-4 off 20 overs before Newick were bowled out 112.
