Warden Park girls reach cricket finals at Lords

Warden Park U13 girls cricketers have reached the National Indoor Cricket Finals.

Having won the previous rounds the girls went through to the regional finals on 18th April, representing Sussex against schools from seven other counties, including Surrey and Kent.

The girls played three games in the first round, winning all three, to finish the group stage in 1st place.

The girls were fired up for the semi final against Wycombe High School, Buckinghamshire which they won with a comfortable 107-4, over 63 all out.

The finals saw Warden Park competing against Holmwood House School, Essex, who they had played in the group stage.

The Warden Park girls were determined to win and, despite the loud opposition support, they came away winners, 107-4, over 80- all out.

The girls’ standard of play was exceptional; they all batted, bowled and fielded with skill that out classed the other teams.

The National Final takes place on 10th May at Lords.
