Richard Sambrook excelled with personal bests (PB’s) in all six of his events, the most notable being a 5.5 sec PB in the 100m backstroke. Fabienne Andre and Christopher Lovejoy, both classified swimmers, continued to improve on some of their race times. Christopher managed to knock an impressive 9 secs off his 50m backstroke time, as well as achieving a 4 sec PB in the 50m freestyle and a 5 sec PB in the 100 freestyle.

Fabienne, who will be competing in the British Para Swimming International Meet in Glasgow next month, further improved her times with a 5 sec PB in the 100m breaststroke and shaved 0.5 secs in the 50m backstroke. Newcomer to this level of competition and the youngest on the team, Alfie Penfold, showed real promise and determination and was delighted to gain PB’s in two of his events. Avinash Suresh also swam well, achieving a 5 sec PB in the 50m backstroke.

We wish Fabienne all the best in her international debut.
