Ulloa teed up Crofts for his second goal in consecutive games before latching on to a Will Buckley cross to nod past substitute goalkeeper Alex Cisak for his third goal in four outings.

The Australian shot-stopper was introduced in the second half after the Clarets’ first choice Tom Heaton saw red for his second booking.

Rohan Ince was brought back into the starting line-up and it was his pass that allowed Ulloa to have the first strike of the game, but the ball rolled wide of the post.

Inigo Calderon then saw his effort flash past the far post just minutes before the Seagulls took the lead in the 28th minute. Ulloa’s perseverance paid dividends as he robbed a hesitant Kevin Long before squaring the ball to Crofts, with the Wales international calmly fizzing past Heaton from close range.

The former Manchester United keeper then clattered into Buckley outside the area as the winger rushed towards goal, but referee Darren Sheldrake showed only a yellow card, much to the frustration of the home fans.

However, he got his comeuppance after the break as pressure from Buckley to get rid of the ball resulted in the keeper handling outside of the area and being shown his second booking, followed by a red card.

Albion piled the misery on Sean Dyche’s men and sealed the three points with just 17 minutes left on the clock after Ulloa leaped brilliantly to steer Buckley’s precise cross into the net.
