REAL MADRID are set to up their efforts to sign Tottenham’s Welsh wizard Gareth Bale in a £50million deal. Madrid chiefs are looking into the possibility of signing Bale after Gonzalo Higuain yesterday fuelled further speculation linking him with a move away from the Bernabeu. The Spanish giants are also interested in bringing Sergio Aguero back to Spain - and they could offer up to £40million for the Manchester City frontman. (Daily Express)

ROBERTO Mancini vowed Manchester City can reclaim the Premier League title after a Sergio Aguero wondergoal clinched the derby at Old Trafford... albeit next season. Aguero came off the bench to score a magnificent solo goal in the 78th minute in a 2-1 win that trims Manchester United’s lead over City to 12 points with seven games to go. Despite the win at Old Trafford, Mancini - whose men won the title from eight points back with six to play a year ago - maintained the title race is over, but said City can be crowned champions again in 2013-14 and will NEVER trail United by such a huge margin again.
