Brighon reject approach for Gordon Greer

A cheeky bid by Barnsley to lure Brighton captain Gordon Greer away from the south coast has fallen at the first hurdle.

The centre back has had an impressive season in defence for the Albion and caught the eye of the Yorkshire outfit who followed up their initial interest from the earlier in the season with an official approach this week.

However, their first attempt to sign the Scot has been rejected and it is unlikely Gus Poyet would accept any offer for his skipper, particularly having already sold Steve Cook to Bournemouth last season and with Lewis Dunk facing trial over an allegation of sexual assault.
