Last time out Manchester United were 2-1 winners after extra time against Norwich City in the FA Cup on Saturday. They made eight changes to the side that beat Sheffield United 3-0 last Wednesday when Anthony Martial scored a hat-trick.

Maupay, however remains in upbeat mood. “We have a lot of quality at Brighton,” he said. “Very good players, manager and staff. When we look at the other teams we truly believe we can beat them and stay in the Premier League.

"Since the matches started, and really since we came back to training, we have been focused and worked hard.

“We respect our opponents because they all have good players but beating Arsenal gave us a lot of confidence.

“It’s unfortunate we couldn’t get three points at Leicester but there is nothing sad about drawing there.

"Four points from six is really good but there is still seven games to go. Anything can happen – but it’s been a good start for us and we can build on this.”

Jose Izquierdo will miss Tuesday’s game, while a decision is to be made on defender Adam Webster who pulled-up at Leicester with a hamstring problem and was replaced by Shane Duffy in the first half.

"Adam Webster has made good progress but we're waiting on him. He'll be touch and go for tomorrow," said Albion head coach Graham Potter.

"Tariq Lamptey has had stitches, but he's okay for tomorrow."

Manchester United will be without the injured defensive duo of Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones.

Albion winger Leo Trossard added, “It’s an exciting game to be involved in. Of course we’d like the crowd to be there, but those sorts of games are what you want as a player.

“You want to challenge yourself against the best, like we have done in our last two matches, and now we have another opportunity to play well again.”
