Brighton prepare for sold-out Lewes friendly

The Albion step up their pre-season preparations tomorrow night (Tuesday) with a trip to nearby Lewes.

Gus Poyet’s team opened their account with a convincing 5v0 win over Maidstone at the weekend, with Ashley Barnes scoring three goals from an advanced midfield position.

Wayne Bridge was not involved and the Albion will leave it until nearer kick-off at the Dripping Pan before deciding whether or not to blood him against Lewes.

Poyet says the recent loan signing has settled in well but won’t rush him into action.

The Seagulls used all three senior goalkeepers against Maidstone and there were healthy run-outs for the majority of the first team squad.

Tickets for the game have now sold out and there will be none available to fans on the door. Lewes is expected a crowd of around 2,000.
