Burgess Hill Town won't rush injured players back for trip to Hythe Town in Velocity Trophy

The Cannons have so far overcome Kent rivals Herne Bay and division-above Bognor Regis Town to reach this stage of the competition.

Hythe are currently flying high in second in Bostik South East, having amassed 24 points from 13 games, and are yet to be suffer a league defeat at home.

Hill have so far defeated Faversham Town and Tooting & Mitcham United to reach the third round. The winner of this fixture travel to take on either Maldon & Tiptree or Enfield Town with dates yet to be confirmed.

With a difficult encounter ahead of the Hillians, Wormull revealed injury doubts would be left out of the squad as he prioritizes Saturday's trip to Birghtlingsea Regent in the league.

"They'll be a difficult team and we've got a few injuries as well. Dan Beck's out with a jarred knee, Gary Elphick has a calf injury, and Gary Charman is out too.

"Saturday against Brightlingsea is a big game for us as well so we're not going to be rushing any of our injured players back. We're leaving them at home to recover and get some treatment.

"What we've got to do against Hythe is put some things in place and go through some things before Saturday. Although we want to win the game, I think if we're honest the league is what's important for us."

Kick-off tonight at Reachfields is 7:45pm.
