Brighton head into the game second but are still unbeaten and are behind Championship leaders Middlesbrough only on goal difference.

Calderon, who has been with the Seagulls for nearly six years, said: “It’s the best game you can play. With the last games (against Derby and Queens Park Rangers), maybe we were disappointed and could think that we lost two points in each game but if we win on Saturday, it will be massive.

“It’s a great game to play. It’s going to be difficult but it will be really good.”

Albion have drawn their last two games 2-2 at both Derby and Queens Park Rangers and Calderon said: “We’ve had really, really tough games. Even the one that was probably easier against Charlton was a battle because we started so bad.

“They’ve been difficult games to play and difficult results to take because we were winning in both.

“From the beginning (of the season), we started ever so well. For me personally, it was complicated to get in the team because everyone was doing all right and I don’t complain about that.

“You want to be involved when things are going good and I can try to help the team on the pitch now.”
