Burgess Hill Town Football Club boss Ian Chapman felt his side were unfortunate to suffer a Sussex Senior Cup semi-final defeat to Whitehawk on Tuesday.
Jake Robinson netted eight minutes from time to give the Conference South a 2-1 victory at Culver Road.
Hillians took the lead on 16 minutes but Danny Mills levelled just before the break and Robinson netted the winner late on.
And Chapman felt that conceding late in both halves proved costly.
He said: “I thought it was a really good game of football it was just a shame to lose out.
“They have got undoudbted quality all over the park and that showed.
“We set out to frustrate, which we did for long periods and going ahead helped us.
“They got the goal back before half-time and then kicked on.”
Despite the defeat, Chapman feels his side can take positives.
He added: “They started with two former league players in Sergio Torres and Jake Robinson.
“It was always going to be tricky and we just didn’t have enough in the end.”
