Hillians boss Ian Chapman says his squad is shaping up for next season.
And he believes he has two or three experienced new signings lined up that will complement his young squad.
This week Chapman revealed he has retained the services of the majority of his current players.
Josh James, Sam Fisk, Will Miles, Ollie Rowland, Toby Pointing, James Richmond, Scott Kirkwood, Dan Pearse, Curtis Gayler, Pat Harding, Lee Harding, Guy Bolton, Callum Overton, Luc Doherty, and Cam Wilshire have all resigned for next season.
Chapman said: “There‘s a couple of players I am still talking to from last year’s squad, and about three other players I am in talks with now and hopefully have some news in the next few days.
“I am really pleased they want to stay with us. Obviously we need to get some fresh blood in, But really pleased, as you can see there’s a lot of younger players who are still with us and we need to get a bit of experience with them.
“The people I have spoken to are keen to come but I am just waiting on the final details.
“We are really pleased with how the squad is shaping up. Obviously there are quite a few young lads there but I believe they can take us forward. We just need to get the right experience around them and I think we’ll be able to do that.”
Chapman also praised James Richmond, a youngster who came into the first team squad at the end of the season.
He said: “James is a lad who came to us and he played a few u21 games and we didn’t really have a chance to throw him in. Late on we put him in and he did really well and we were really pleased with the way he performed.”
Joe Keehan and Andy Pearson left the club last week. Burgess Hill Town are still waiting on confirmation that they will be playing in the Ryman Premier next season.
Although the Hillians finished in the relegation zone after a final day defeat, Farnborough’s mandatory relegations means Ryman Premier football is all but guaranteed.
Chapman is waiting for this news to be confirmed. He said: “I don’t want to organise friendlies until that is sorted.”
