That shows how tight the division is this year - and if the Reds beat Carlisle United and Grimsby Town in the next seven days they could be as high as third.

But manager John Yems is not looking at the table.

commenting on how close the league is, he said: “It’s absolutely mad. That’s why I don’t look at it.

“I am not being blasé. If you start looking at the table at this time you just wind yourself up.

“It’s all ifs and buts, it’s what we have got in front of us we have got to worry about, we can’t influence what’s gone before.

“We just have to make sure we do what we can do.”

The Reds squad is being used to its fullest at the moment with the likes of Stuart Nelson and Joe McNerney getting 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw at Harrogate.

But with players returning, Yems has some selection decisions to make for the visit of Carlisle United on Saturday - the only player definitely ruled out is skipper George Francomb with a broken arm.

Yems said: “[On Francomb] It’s a big loss but it’s a chance for someone else.

“Archie has stepped in and done well. That’s the beauty of having the players all training and playing together.

“We are a squad not a team.”

Yems wasn’t disappointed with the point at the Sulphurites, but he knows it was an opportunity missed.

He said: “A point is a point.

“You can’t be disappointed with a point but we could have had the three.

“But we learn and just keep going. There are so many game coming up.

“It’s a good thing, playing and training, it’s just trying to keep everyone fit now.”

And hin his post-match interview on the club’s youtube channel, Yems said: “‘It’s a shame we couldn’t find the second, third or the fourth, we had enough chances to. But that’s the game.

‘Last week we scored six and this time we scored one. That’s football for you.

“They’re a strong side, I keep telling people there’s no easy games at this level. You come away from home with a point.”
