Crawley Town boss John Yems says his side showed their spirit again in Colchester United draw

Jordan Tunnicliffe's 21st minute goal was a quick response to Callum Harriott's 15th minute opener but neither side were able to find the winner.

He said: "Disappointed that we didn't come away with three points, but I think the lads put a good shift in, we missed a few chances but once again there spirit was there and we stuck with it.

"If you look at it logically, if that was a league game on Sunday that was four points and you would take that all day long."

Harriott's opener was a great finish, but Yems believes he shouldn't have had the chance. He said: ""It could have been stopped. The actual shot was a great finish but without getting too technical he shouldn't have got in that position to do it and the lads in there know one of them should have put a tackle in at least.

"But that's me being super critical. We've have got to stop these things happening because it's another goal that's preventable."

The Reds created many chances, but Yems believes a point was fair at the end of the game. He said: "How many chances did we create? How many should we have put in the net? But fair play to them as well. It's always tough to come here.

"It ain't in our nature to turn it in. I keep saying it. If you are going to get beat, you get beat honestly. 1-1 I think was a fair result."
