Following the Reds' defeat at Port Vale, some fans were lamenting the sale of Palmer and Bez Lubala.

But Yems believes fans have got to get behind the current squad, who he assures us will 'get it right'.

He said: "We will get it right, we have got the players there. We have got to realise where we have come from to where we are.

"I am always looking to improve the squad but I am fed up with people saying, ‘we are missing Ollie Palmer, 'missing the big man', 'missing this' etc.

"If someone wants to donate £3,000 a week so we can go and get a couple of players, that would be great.

"But we have got what we have got and it’s down to us to make the best of it."

Reds are this week preparing for a visit from Scunthorpe and Yems hopes his side can learn from the Port Vale defeat.

He said: "It was disappointing but at the same time we learned a lot from it. We had a lot making their debuts. We just have to move on to the next one, you can't dwell on it. And we have to make sure we do learn from it."
