Crawley Town have sold defender Joe Walsh to newly-promoted MK Dons.

The Reds’ skipper Joe joined MK in March on loan until the end of the season and made two appearances for them to help them win promotion to the Championship.

He has now joined the club on a permanent basis, signing a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The Wales under-21 defender, who joined Reds in August 2012 from Swansea City, made 110 appearances for the club.

Walsh said: “I’m delighted to get this deal sorted, I enjoyed my time here on loan.

“It supported what I already knew - this is a club going places and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”

He added: “I’m really excited about playing in the Championship and I’m already itching to get back for pre-season.

“We’ve got a talented bunch of lads here and I’m sure we won’t just be making up the numbers.”

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson said: “Walsh gives us something we haven’t had for a while in terms of being a left-footed centre-half.

“He impressed us both in training and on the pitch last season and he adds to a strong group of centre-backs that we know can compete for starting places.”

A Crawley Town spokesman said: “We wish Joe well all the best for the future.”
