Allardyce: ‘Crawley didn’t desrve to lose’

ITV pundit and former Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce was impressed by Crawley Town’s performance and insisted they ‘Didn’t deserve to lose.’

Speaking on TV he said: “Sir Alex wasn’t happy and he’s told the younger players particulalry and probably the whole team after the second half performance exactly what he expects when you are playing for Manchester Utd, no matter who you are playing against, particularly in front of your own fans.

Steve Evans complained of a foul and we all thought it was a foul. Matt Tubbs gets tackled from behind and 20 seconds later Manchester Utd got that short corner.

“The movement deceives the Crawley defenders and they haven’t left anybody to cover the posts. If they had, that’s cleared.

“They paid a heavy price for that cause they didn’t deserve to lose.

“Crawley emerge with tremendous credit.

“I thought they might die with the tempo Manchester Utd set but they didn’t.

“In fact they carried on and actually got stronger in the second half.”
