Crawley to play Reading and Nuneaton in friendlies

Crawley Town are to play Championship side Reading in a pre-season friendly.

The game against this season’s FA Cup semi-finalists will be at the Checkatrade.com Stadium on Monday, July 27, kick-off 7.45pm.

Fans could see the return of former Crawley Town midfielder Hope Akpan who was sold to the Royals in January 2013 under former managers Steve Evans and Richie Barker.

Akpan had featured for Crawley when they hosted Reading in the Third Round of the FA Cup which Reading won 3-1.

Mark Yates will take a Reds’ team to Conference North side Nuneaton Town for a pre-season game.

It will take place at Nuneaton’s Liberty Way ground on Wednesday, July 29, kick-off 7.45pm.

Nuneaton were recently relegated from the Conference National and have appointed Kevin Wilson as their new manager following demotion.
