Reds go into the game confident after securing a superb 2-1 victory on the road at Hartlepool.

Crawley have gained four wins from their last six matches and are 17th in the League Two table, nine points clear of the drop zone.

The Minstermen lie four places below Crawley at fourth from bottom and this week parted company with their manager Russ Wilcox with just two wins from their opening 15 matches, their last match being a 3-1 defeat by AFC Wimbledon.

York’s head of football operations and first team coach Richard Cresswell has taken over as caretaker manager alongside assistants, Jonathan Greening and Andy Leaning.

Yates said: “The last month has been pretty decent for me and the boys. The team is just beginning to gel with some decent performances.

“Saturday will be tough as York have just lost their manager and will be looking to bounce back.
