Yates said: “It was really important. We talked at half-time about believing like we did last week.

“I asked questions of them and called for more tempo and for one or two players who I thought didn’t influence the game in the first half to do so and they certainly did in the second half.

“We didn’t allow Luton to play well and credit to the players. We all started to come to the party and caused them problems. We had a little bit of wind behind us and that pushed us on top of them.

“They couldn’t handle Matt Harrold in the second half and he rightly got the man of the match award.

“He was outstanding. He’s been a big part of what we’re about this season. There’s no getting away from that fact.

“Everyone wants to see Barcelona, silky football I would imagine but we’ve got Matt Harrold in League Two and he can be a real threat!

“Jimmy (Dack) and George (Lawtey) the analyst have done a lot of work with him to be positive and showing where he scores his goals from and he’s doing really well.”

Reds have a tiring week this week with two marathon trips to the north.
