He is hoping to cast his eye over several triallists over pre-season which starts today (Wednesday).

So far Yates has recruited four new players: Simon Walton, Joe McNerney, Luke Rooney and Shamir Fenelon which brings his current squad up to 15.

His top priority has got to be finding two new goalkeepers after Brian Jensen joined League Two club Mansfield.

Yates is working on the goalkeeping situation and is confident of signing one by the time Crawley play Burgess hill Town in their opening pre-season friendly on July 15.

He said: “I am pursuing different options, both a permanent signing and a long-term loan - once I get the first one I’ll know where I am going with the second.

“It’s not a problem and we’ve weighed everything up.

“We are looking at a number of triallists over the next seven or ten days and might make up my mind about them from there.

Yates has ruled out making any further signings this week, despite reports he was on the verge of making three or four by the end of this week.

And he will not reveal which player could be leaving the club this week.

He said: “The player is possibly leaving today for family reasons - we have worked out the right deal both for him and his new club.”
