Crawley Town will not be like Barcelona against Accrington Stanley

Crawley Town manager Mark Yates is not looking to play like Barcelona as he aims to end a three-game losing run at home to Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

He has called for a hard-working display rather than total football to help them gain their first home win of the season.

Yates said: “Accrington are going to be tough, they played well against Portsmouth and frustrated them, were well organised, were disciplined and played a bit of football and have since been to Bristol Rovers and won.

“They beat Exeter pretty convincingly last week at home. John’s (Coleman) teams always come and have a go, pass the ball and ask questions of you.

“This Saturday we have got to stand-up to those questions.

“After losing three games in a row we are probably not going to set out to play like Barcelona and play total football.

“To give us a chance of winning we’ve got to work extremely hard. Like we did against Portsmouth, but in a different way.

“We’ve just got to turn up and on any given day we can beat anybody.

“We have showed that but we have also showed if you turn up and are not totally focussed we can also get beat, it’s that sort of league.

“It’s important we regroup quickly and get that next performance to change our fortunes.

“We have to learn from we’ve done well and what we haven’t done well.”
