He has called on the Reds to get three or four more wins starting with victory over Leyton Orient at the Checkatrade.com Stadium tomorrow.

Fantastic away wins this week over Colchester United and Port Vale have lifted Crawley one point above their opponents at fourth from bottom.

Saunders said: “We have won the last two games and scored six goals and I think probably on current form we are in the top-three.

“So it’s going all right. We can win this game on Saturday and we can also cause Orient big damage.

“I’ve always thought that they have good players. Their strikers probably earn more than our whole team.

“Orient have had a decent run. With the players they have got and the money they have paid out. If you look at the players they have up front, Dagnall and Henderson, them two would get into any League One team.

“So I’m surprised they are down there but I only thought it was a matter of time before they put it together.

“Let’s just hope than on Saturday we can make it four points between us, which means they have to win two to get above us.”

“I think Orient will get out of the relegation zone with the players they have.

“We need three or four wins from the last nine matches. Our aim is to get to 50 points as soon as we can.”

Would Saunders settle for a 1-0 win on Saturday?

He added: “I’d rather we had a 3-0 win so I can relax in the last ten minutes!”
