The Minstermen are currently fourth from bottom following a poor run of results and will have a caretaker manager, Richard Cresswell, in charge after sacking Russ Wilcox this week.

He said: “We’ve seen you can turn that around. They’ve replaced the manager with someone from within the club.

“The players will want to show the new regime, back the manager, whoever is picking the team going forward and have some good players. It just hasn’t happened for Russ this season.

“We do a lot of planning but this week we don’t know what they will be doing as they’ve been playing different formations all season.

“We’ve been concentrating on ourselves both defensively and going forward and are not worrying about them.

“Until we get the team sheet at 11.30am we won’t know who they have.”
